PPF and Window Tint Aftercare: The First Days

4 min read · Updated

Window tint: the first days

Window film is applied with a solution that needs time to dry out completely. Until it does, you may see small hazy or watery spots. This is normal while the film cures.

  • Keep the windows up for the first few days
  • Don't clean the inside of the glass for about a week
  • Avoid sticking anything to the film
  • Defrost lines on the rear glass are fine; don't scrape the film

PPF: the first week

Film also settles after installation. Small moisture spots under PPF usually disappear as it cures.

  • No pressure washing for the first week
  • Avoid automatic brush car washes
  • Hand wash with a soft microfibre mitt and pH-neutral shampoo
  • Don't pick at edges

Long-term care

Wash regularly so sand and dust don't sit on the surface. A ceramic coating over PPF makes this much easier.
