Colour PPF vs Vinyl Wrap in Dubai

4 min read · Updated

The difference in one line

A vinyl wrap changes the colour. Colour PPF changes the colour and protects the factory paint at the same time.

Protection

Colour PPF is a paint protection film: thicker, designed to take stone chips and scratches. Vinyl is thinner and mainly decorative, so it offers much less impact protection.

Finish

Both come in gloss, satin and matte. PPF finishes are designed to look like paint, and many have a self-healing top layer for light swirl marks.

Removal

Both can be removed. With colour PPF, the paint underneath has been protected the whole time, so the original colour comes back in the condition it was covered.

Which should you choose?

If you want a temporary look for a short time, a wrap may be enough. If you want a new colour on a car you care about and plan to keep, colour PPF protects your paint while you enjoy the new look.
